On the Cover: β6 integrin knockout (Itgb6−/−) mice develop classic signs of spontaneous, chronic periodontal disease with characteristic inflammation, epithelial down-growth, pocket formation, and bone loss around the teeth. The periodontal tissues from a 12-month-old Itgb6−/− mouse were stained with Movat pentachrome. (See page 1271).
